CHAMPIONS Under 16 Girls and Under 11 Boys

Congratulations to the Under 16 Girls and Under 11 boys who won their respective divisions for season 2008. Both teams have had wonderful support structures around them including coaches mangers and parents to allow the players to enjoy the great game. The teams have not only been successful on the ground but off and have been wonderful ambassadors for HPUFC. We have received emails from other clubs congratulating the girls which is a credit to all. Congratulations from the Committee.

"Under 16 Girls after wrapping up title at DISC"

Under 16 Girls

The Under 16 Girls had to wait till two days after the season to wrap up the win. Going into the make up game they needed a win to ensure victory in the division. So on Tuesday 2nd Sept. they travelled to the DISC to play FC Bulleen. It took 80 minutes to score but 2 goals in the final 10 minutes saw the team to victory and the CHAMPIONSHIP. The girls were elated and celebrated wildly. It was great to see reward for the girls who worked so hard during the year. Congratulations to the coach, Steve, who has great passion for the team over a number of years and deserves every success.

Under 11 Boys

The Under 11 Boys team have had great success all year, wrapping the title up with three rounds to spare. They have been a formidable line up all year and a goal scoring machine. We look forward to this team continuing to evolve. From humble beginnings this year and losing the coach early the team has moved forward with great support form parents and the team manager. Congratulations to Guy, Kat and Laurence who have created a support structure around the team which is the envy of other teams and clubs. Well done boys.

NEW PRESIDENT

The club would like to welcome Russell Mackie as the newly elected President of HPUFC. Russell has worked tirelessly over the past few years and is looking forward to the challenges ahead. He is supported by Karen Walden who is now Vice President. This is a positive move for the club as we strive for a stronger club with sustainability into the next 30 years.

The club is as strong as ever with nearly 300 registered players and requires volunteers now more than ever. Please ensure that you are in contact with managers and coaches to help out on game days and at training to see the club strive towards its ultimate goal of players enjoying the game we all love.

First Victory for the Season

It was a fantastic effort that saw 25 plus people attend the working bee on Saturday at the club.
We achieved everything plus more. The clubrooms look great and to see the likes of Matty, Gaz and Johnny with a cloth in their hands is nothing short of a miracle.

Although some were still there because they thought there was free beer, a mountain of work was completed. So thanks again to all those who put in a mommoth days work from 9am - 4.30pm. A successfull club is achieved on and off the field.

Rregards,
Committee
HPUFC
